Brittney reminded me that it's time to write family letters, so here is ours!
New News- we are expecting a new baby in the first part of November. Don't know if it's a boy or girl, but I'm hoping for a girl, while Seth thinks more testosterone around here will be fine :) Shawn will be 21 months old when this new baby comes, so it really feels like I'll have two babies. I know that others have had them this close (and closer) for thousands of years, but it's kind of stressful for me. It was hard enough to be sick all of the time without having a crying baby, and now I have both... but I'm sure everything will work out fine, since Heavenly Father decided a new spirit should come to us, the first month we even tracked things to maybe think about getting pregnant again! I didn't want to tell Cindy about a new baby since I knew that they had been trying for awhile, but she was excited for us when we called. Then a few days ago they announced that she's expecting too- and their baby is due BEFORE ours. Ha ha, good one Cindy, all of that concern was for nothing. I guess our family is being blessed for Annie's missionary service, because things seem to be going well for all of our siblings. That also reminds me that it's been a miracle baby year for a lot of my friends too, and I'm so happy for them. Heavenly Father is watching out for us all.
Although I used to think that midwives and home-births were for hippies who danced with tambourines, and talked about "groovy mother earth," I really enjoyed our experience last time with our amazing midwife Tami! I guess you never know that changes you'll make in your life until you get there, because we're planning on having this one at home too. I guess it would be more normal if we lived in the Netherlands, but one of the nurses at the hospital here said that she had never dealt with a home birth, in 20 years! But in case you're wondering I haven't gone vegan, yet.
Well, Shawn is getting bigger and bigger, walking all over the place, getting into everything, and making sounds like words, but I don't think they mean anything yet. He'll spit out good things like bananas and green beans, but I just looked over and he had some very burnt, homemade doughnuts in his hands, ready to chomp down. Go figure. Maybe if I burn the green beans he'd eat them? He just had his first birthday in February, and though we planned on our family coming for a big party, there was a snowstorm in the mountains, so we just had a little party with the boys and me. He loved his cupcakes so much that he reached into every hole in the pan and took handfuls to eat. It was adorable.
Collin is busy every day of the week, with scouts, Karate, and other activities, and he's also gone around the neighborhood (with his two cousins) to see if they could do some yard work to make money. They love gathering cans to recycle, and it brings back memories for me. Oh the days when .05 a can seemed like a lot of money... He hasn't seen his cousins for awhile, so hopefully sometime this Summer we'll all be able to come to reunions and such to see everybody.
Seth is getting back into bidding for his job, and working in the yard, or the house since most of the time I'm tired and feeling nauseated, so the house just gets messy, all by itself with a little help from the toddler, around me. We're excited for Spring and Summer when we'll go camping or at least to visit the Green River or other reservoirs around Vernal. It really is a great place to be in the Summer time, except that it's so far from everyone else out here! Once again, you're all invited to visit- and the wall of dinosaur bones is now open! It's been closed for years, but the biggest collection of bones (in a wall? it's the biggest something) in the world is ready for you to see. Did I mention the Green River? Yep, you should definitely visit us.
Well good bye, and love to you all,
Carrie, Seth, Collin, Shawn, and baby- Austin.
